TREATMENT
HOVE & CO  : Behind the shutter
THE BRIEF
I have been given the brief to create either a music video for a original band/song or create a trailer for a new original film. This is to be planned and pitched to the client with the view to the proposed media being successfully produced.
TARGET AUDIENCE
The target audience I will be aiming to target will be young 16-25 year old entrepreneurs who aspire to be a part of a creative industry. The demographic I will be looking at specifically are the C2DE social grading as the idea behind the trailer/film is to inspire young people into developing ideas and making ground within the creative industry. There is a potential market for an older demographic (25+) as those who generally go into business are those who have left university and are trying to develop a career which is often difficult in these industries. The target audience will be similar to the man in the video making it more readily relatable for those watching.
MUSIC VIDEO/TRAILER SYNOPSIS AND HOW IT RELATES TO THE BRIEF
The trailer will show the day to day life of a young , successful photographer – this will show the constraints of the creative industry and how demanding the career path can be. This will include a short interview style clip where I will talk one on one with the photographer to get his personal insight on the industry, in between this there will be insert shots of him working in the countryside for clients demonstrating his position within the business world. The photographer will talk passionately about the work he does with a view to encouraging others to pursue a career in a field that interests them rather than something they believe they should be doing.

HEALTH AND SAFETY CONSIDERATIONS:
  • DJI Phantom 3 Professional – CAA Rules and Regulations state you : Must not fly above 400ft/120m, must not fly further than 500m from the take-off location, must not fly within 50m of buildings and people not under the control of the drone operator, must fly within line of sight of the drone at all times, must not fly within a 15 mile radius of commercial airspace, must not fly over crowds of more than 1000 people or large gatherings, must only fly within the time scale of 30 minutes before sunrise to 30 minutes after sunset.
  • Safety of participating models must be thought about in depth, this includes locations where persons may come to harm such as traffic congested areas or remote locations without assigned footpaths.
  • All equipment used must have recently passed PAT tests to ensure the safety of both the videographer and participating models . In addition to this, equipment must be used in a safe and appropriate manner (tying down loose cables ect) to prevenunnecessary harm.
  • Whilst using RC drone, to alert people in the area of its presence and to avoid damage to equipment or harm to public – display warning signs at a reasonable distance to drone takeoff and landing locations.

LEGAL AND ETHICAL CONSIDERATIONS:
  • To abide by safety and usage laws of DJI Phantom 3 Professional drone, failure to comply to these proposed rules could result in criminal investigation.
  • Any footage used in the trailer and/or sound tracks to accompany must be original or rights free, this falls under the Copyrights, Designs and patents act 1989.
  • Consideration of wildlife and inhabitants must be taken into effect when filming in or around the countryside as to not cause unnecessary distress to animals or those living close by.
  • Genders and ethnicities must be represented in a way which is fair and non-discriminatory.
  • All factual information given in the trailer must be reliable as to not mislead the audience watching.
  • The trailer must not speak unfairly against competitors of the photographer used in the production, this would make the content of the trailer slanderous.

Representations of gender:
To fairly represent genders throughout the centering around a young male, I have included other models of the opposite gender in the production. At no point in the trailer should there show discrimination towards the opposite sex.

Copyright for music used:
To avoid breaching copyright laws, and facing the issue of making my production private I will use copyright free soundtracks to supplement any production I create. In addition to this I will not be using any copyrighted footage or imagery, all visuals will be created by myself therefore bypassing the chance of breaking these laws. Should music which Is copyrighted need to be used within the post production process then sufficient permissions must be given by the owner of the intellectual property.

Consent forms for actors and locations:
Before production begins to take place, each of the persons involved in the production must sign a release and consent form which gives permission to use their likeness and name in the making of the trailer. Any private property must have been risk assessed and permissions given from the owner before any filming or photography takes place. Copies must be made of these forms for proof of consent.
